Hi Em, sooo glad it's not just me! I did exactly that, then endured the laughter from 'im indoors...grrr. But I have used a sander, given the walls a "key" and painted with emulsion - it's fine! (thank god!!) So nil desperandum, just let the sander do the work, then you get to re-paint. Go...
