Toilet Overflow Pipe!

Hi all, I am in the process of putting in a new en-suite at my house and the question I have is: I am going to replace the toilet, but have noticed that there is a white plastic overflow pipe coming from the back of the cistern which goes through the wall outside. Whilst this is not a problem, I hav...

Loose and wobbly stairs!!

Hi,

The problem I have in my 15 year (Bovis) home is that the stair case, in particular the bannister has a fair amount of play and wobbles when you hold on to it.

How do I fix this? Thanks.

Plasterboard to tile Jointing?

Hi all, I think I am right in saying that when I dryline my en-suite bathroom I do not need to put any form of edging (metal or plastic) on the window resess/toilet framework etc.. where the plasterboard butts together if the whole room is going to be tiled from floor to ceiling? Any one disagree? :...

Plasterboard Paper Ripped!

Hi all, I have removed a glued on dado rail and a rather horrid stuck on 8 inch paper border from my son's new bedroom. Unfortunately the removal has ripped the top paper of the plasterboard in some areas, the board is fine and undamaged apart from this, my question is: can I sand down the plasterbo...

Floorboards in bedrooms!

Hi all, I have recently removed the skanky carpets, underlay and paper dust sheets from all the bedrooms in my new house to reveal the floorboards. My house is only 15 years old and as you will know is fitted with the standard hard board flooring screwed into place. My question is: before I re-carpe...

How do I remove tiles from plasterboard?

Hi all,

I want to remove all the existing tiles from my bathroom walls with a view to re-tiling from the floor to the ceiling.

How do I remove the existing tiles without damaging the plasterboard walls underneath and how do I prepare the walls for re-tiling?

Many thanks.

How do I prepare plasterboard walls for painting

Hi all, I have just removed a grotty dado rail and a rather large kids sticker which was placed all round the room of my son's new bedroom. The problem is the top paper of the plasterboard has ripped in places and where the dado rail was also stuck on it has left streaks of glue. How do I get the wa...
