Thanks everyone. I really tried but there was no way to get this Pattress box out without totally ripping into the plaster. In the end I went to Homebase and discovered they have face plates with the dial on that have like a kind of extender which brings the face plate out a bit further, but still e...

Removing Pattress Box

Hello, I'm trying to replace the light switch in my livingroom with a dimmer switch but the existing pattress box is too shallow for my dimmer switch face plate. I've dug out round the existing pattress box but it seems have some sort of connection to the pipe which feeds the wires to it. It seems t...

Heating was on and all radiators working, everything seems fine. Should I still be concerned even though the problem looks sorted ...

Central Heating causing drain to overflow

Hello, The drain in my back garden was overfilling with hot water at the weekend and I believe this was happened by my Central Heating being on - turning my heating off eventually stopped this overflow. Any ideas what could be causing this and if it would be a big job to fix - just want a heads up b...

That sounds a bit fancy. It really is just a simple mixer tap.

Is there any way I can unblock the filter rather than getting someone out to replace the tap?

Thanks again

Cold water side is just cold water. It works exactly as before just the water coming out the hot water side is always cold.

Not a new tap, not an hold tap either. Nothing done recently central heating or hot water wise.

Just a mystery!

No hot water out of kitchen tap

Hello,

my mixer tap in my kitchen doesn't run hot water. I have it turned to the hot water side but only cold water runs out. However my boiler is heating up water fine as the taps in my bathroom run hot water.

Any ideas? I think I have a combi boiler.

Cheers

Renovating Fireplace

Hello, I am currently renovating my fireplace and have had the old gas fire removed. It was one of those gas fires that had the gas pipe running along the side of it. At the time it was disconnected my plumber told me that he had cut the gas pipe to below the floor boards and when it was time to con...

Thanks guys,

It's a Worcester 28i. Do you think there will be any problems moving it onto the back wall of the house? Just thinking this will really scupper my plans if I can't build a garage on the side of my house because the vent will go into it.

Thanks again

Boiler Positions

Hello, I just moved into a new house a few months ago and I'm trying to increase the kitchen space to make it a bit bigger for a dining area. The problem is the current position of the boiler. At present it is against the wall that runs along the side of the house and this is right in what I would l...
