securing hob splash back

I'm about to fit our new kitchen. Having received the polished splash back for behind the hob I'm left unsure as to the best way as to secure it to the wall.? It's come with a sheet of MDF of the same size? Is this screwed to the wall first then the splash back simply glued onto it or what.? Rob.

I am about to fit our new kitchen, the old one I put in over 12 years ago and the oven simply pluged into a 13amp socket with never any problems. I am being told the new oven which has a total connected load of 2.8 KG will need to be hard wired,? Can anyone confirm if I would still be able to plug i...
