Thanks for your replies. I did check with the boiler manufacturers notes - and as long as the cupboard is larger and not compact, with the top open, the boiler is fine. The boiler will have a lot of space below and no covering on top, just a cornice.

Thankyou for your advice. It is a Concord Boiler WRS with a balanced flue and venitlation on outside wall.

I have had a suggestion : to put thick plywood (the same depth of the wood flooring) hindden under the appliances and kitchen units. This would make it easier to move freestanding appliances when needed.

I am having new kitchen units installed. After having several kitchen quote who all quoted installing a cupboard around the boiler with a door, I assume this must be OK. I read in the B&Q guide - "never to box in a boiler"! I dont understand. B&Q were one of the quotes we had. All ...

I have the same dilema as well. Some have recommended to save money, put new flooring around the kitchen units. Reason being - why waste money on expensive flooring when it will be hidden under the units? The other reason is we already have good ceramic flooring in the kitchen, so laying down expens...

Try Farrow & Ball or Fired Earth floor paints.
Very heavy duty MATT paint and the best for floors as it is non-slip.
