4 sided tounge and groove between joists

Hello, I'm about to lay a new solid oak floor which has tongue and groove on all 4 sides of each board. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for placing the end joins over joists (or not). Will the T&G be strong enough to support the board if it doesn't exactly line up with a joist or should...

Thanks Billy,

I have a couple more questions: Will I need to get it skimmed after I've put up the board and I assume that I should be screwing the board on to the studs rather than nailing it as I'll not be able to nail into metal studding?
