Hot water

I have 15yr old ferrolli combi 700 optima. when turning on the hot water the boiler fires up and we get hot water but then it goes cold. We can hear the boiler keep firing every 30 secs or so and water gets hot then cold then hot then cold..... really annoying when showering!! please can anyone help...

thanks kbrowniefor reply. the switch cable is red yellow blue with cpc. it worked wall lights and centre lights. i`ve taken out the wire which worked the wall lights as they no longer needed. can i use a 2 way single switch with this cable or do i need to replace all with a new 1.5 t/e. cant lift bo...

thanks KBrownie for ur reply....... now, ... the switch cable is coloured, red blue and yellow with cpc and was connected to a double switch which i want to change to a single switch, can this be done without changing the whole cable

Hi all my inlaws have had their deviding wall knocked down in dining/living room. switch wire will not reach to wall. can i extend the cable with a JB or or connector block as cannot renew full cable. Also there is a socket now pretruding from the floor which they want removing. It has 3 wires. can ...

Hi to all,
I would like some advise on the removal of a chimney breast in the kitchen of a victorian house. We intend to remove it and insert a RSJ.
whats the best way to approach this, start at the top or the bottom using achrows to support........? advise appreciated.

Hi all

Fitting 4 mains spots in kitchen. says its Dbl Insulated class2 so leave earth out. Do i connect main supply and switch straight into the first spot with a block then T&E onto next light and so on. Instructions just pics.

Hi all, just a quick Q re IR. OSG 10.3.3 states `tests should be made @ DB with main sw off, all fuses in place, sw`s and mcb`s Closed meaning `ON` Diagram 10.6 clearly says Main sw off, circuit breakers `OFF`. To me `OFF means `OPEN` where as 10.6.6 says mcb`s should be `CLOSED` whhich to me means ...

there is a light in o/s toilet on its own fuse in cu.
Q. can i take supply from switch to supply a new light in adjacent shed.
Also can i fit a socket in shed by taking spur from kitchen socket using an FCU. Do i need to tell building control. thanks

2 way lighting on landing and in hall d/stairs.
From landing light to landing switch the N has been left out. t/w been used for 2/way instead of 3 core is this the norm?
