I know what you mean when you say "only service combi's". There have been countless times when I've service a gas fire and it has at least one or two of the following: no iso valve gaps around the fireplace so not air tight no sheath or wrapping on the supply pipe not fixed down blatantly ...

Is the boiler a potterton? I've seen a few boiler that are positive pressure fanned and they have a tendency to have this explosive ignition due to a delay between the gas being let in and the ignition sequence. There has been a HSE warning about a particular potterton, the prima I believe, but i ca...

If you pick up an Ideal you will certainly have to replace it again within 4-5 years, especially if it is an isar, the heat exchanger wears away.

It was working for a couple of hours after the aforementioned "percussive maintenance" and I return a day later for it to be back at fault code. I am getting negative pull on the burner pressure before fault code and a quick tap opens the valve. I'm concerned, as said earlier, that one tim...

fair dos, I like your style htg, very conscientious.

It's broken again anyway so I'm just going to replace it. Not done one on this boiler before, but it looks just as straight forward as usual.

Wiring up a system boiler

Hello guys

Do any off you have a diagram on how to wire in a system boiler?

I can wire up an ordinary y/s plan but I just cant figure out how to wire this bad boy in. It's in my house so it's a "not for profit" scheme this one!

Cheers guys

Stu.

Vokera Linea 28 and more about GSR!!!

Hi guys, Have you ever hit a gas valve with a hammer to make it work? by that very question you can guess I have, very recently! But will it last? Oh yeah, i signed up for GSR two weeks ago and nothing... I haven't seen/heard/read one ad yet, but my money is in their account. I haven't even got a ca...

sounds to me like you have no equipotential bonding and there is stray potential (electricity) somewhere. Have an electrician come look at the shower and don't use the offending article until it has been verified as safe. Isolate the shower at the consumer unit, it should be labelled, and see if the...

hiya go to a plumbers merchant and get a brochure of radiators that tells you the heat output (if you can get it for your brand that would be great). Now find the radiators that match yours and add up the total power. It is most likely to be in BTU's and as 1kW = 3412 btu's you have 64,828 btu's to ...

Hiya mate

yes, If i remember correctly, you have a 5 year warranty (only if serviced every year in accordance with the MI) with that boiler, so either call them or the installer.

Good choice of boiler like.

Hiya,

Are the taps the ones that are quarter turn or full turn? If full turn, it could be the washer or that it may need re-seating. If it is quarter turn (ceramic discs) then you may need to replace the tap, unless you can spare cartridges that match your taps.

regards

AH.
