All good advice, but you're all forgetting one thing . . . if the back edge of the worktop is against a wall, it's almost impossible to cut the side off and make a neat job of it. The sole plate of any jigsaw or router will hit the wall before you finish the cut - then what? The only way to do it ne...

Why not buy yourself a router and a flush trim router bit? A half decent router should cost you less than a laminate trimmer and will be much more versatile. If you're not planning to do laminate trimming on an industrial scale, what are you going to do with it after you've done the countertops? Onc...

2 suggestions:

1. Post more info about your system type, etc - A reasonably sized house on a vented cylinder with poorly insulated pipes could easily contain 7 litres of cold water in the pipes which has to be drawn off before you get hot water.

2. Save the cold water for watering the garden.

Assuming that's what you mean bazak, if they are correctly fitted, they WONT blow off or leak. You can turn the water back on...

DHW pipe bore size

Am having a condensing boiler installed shortly and am trying to do as much prep work as possible to save on labour charges before getting an RGI in to install the boiler. The existing gravity feed HW system is plumbed in 22mm pipe - terminating at the bath - with 15mm tee-offs for the other service...

I may be able to help . . . If you know the manufacturer of the taps, phone them and they'll probably send you some for free or at worst the price of the postage. They do cost pence to make, so it's unlikely they'd charge you, but if they do, I wouldn't pay more than about 50p per cap - still far ch...
