Boiler trips out - pilot light goes off

Our back boiler keeps tripping out - i.e the overheat stat kicks in and we have to relight the pilot. We have had it serviced, checked etc and the only advice we have had is that we need a new boiler - but it will cost us at least £2.8k and I still dont know what the root cause problem is We did con...
