It sounds like your CWS (cold water storage) tank isn't big enough. You are pulling the water ot of it with the pump faster than it can replenish itself. Check that there is a strong flow from the ballcock filling it back up as the water is used, sometimes debris from the main gets caught at the bal...

It's probably your "end switch" in the heating valve not telling the boiler to fire up, either needs a synchron motor or a new valve

You need to see if gas is passing through the gas valve, you need to put a gauge on the inlet and make sure you have gas going in, then see if there is any pressure rise on the outlet when it is attempting to ignite, go to the ferroli wbsite and look at the instructions, you have to set your gas pre...

You motorised valve for the rads may be faulty, not shutting properly. The valves are normally near the pump. Let the system get cold, put on only the hot water then feel the pipes around the valves, if water is flowing through your heating valve when it's off, it needs repaired/replaced.

If the noise stops when you alter just one TRV the valve is either goosed, or fited on the wrong pipe making the water flow the wrong way through the valve. There should be an arrow on it indicating the direction of the water flow. You can find the flow direction through your rad when you first turn...

With the drop in gas prices and the high efficiency of new boilers gas would be a good idea. Get at least 3 estimates and see what they are all going to offer. Depending when you got your quote from British Gas they are currently running different offers, this month there is £400 off the price, mak...

Get the guys back who fitted your cylinder. It sounds like the upstairs rads are heating by gravity up the return from the cylinder, also they may have turned the pump speed up causing your system to "pump over", or the ball valve in your expansion tank needs looked at. Either way, if it w...

The valve for the heating might be jammed open. If the lever has no resistance when htg is off, valve is open, somestimes the synchron motor gets stuck, just needs reolaced. If the lever has resistance when heating is off, but hot water is still passing through the valve you will need the whole valv...

Get your boiler checked out, the smell could be a sooty smell from the boiler which would also contain carbon monoxide. STOP USING THE BOILER UNTIL YOU HAVE HAD IT CHECKED. Transco on 0800 111999 will turn it off and make safe until you get a qualified Corgi engineer to test it.

This rad uses the same water as your heating rads, it's just on the circuit which heats your hot water cylinder. Drin the heating system and you should be able to change it.

It's a fan flued boiler, it's doing it's job, but if the flue doesn't encroach your property, you're sort of stuck with it.
