Re: White kitchen door finishes

Hi I don't think anyone can answer your question as these doors have only been around for about 5 years. Good luck with your choice. Gary
Hi Gary Many thanks for your response – it made me have a rethink. If I want the longest last...

White kitchen door finishes

Hi I'm about to replace my kitchen furniture and thinking about white doors and drawers. The kitchen is postage stamp size but very sunny. I'm wondering how white finishes like 'high gloss', 'vinyl', 'foil wrapped', or even a white painted finish, will last. Will they be bright and white in five yea...

Rigga is likely right as far as Microsoft's licensing for Windows, goes, but Dabs, Computer Buyer, Curry's, and lots of other outlets sell OEM versions without comment from Microsoft, and people like me buy and use them without any difficulty. I guess Microsoft would rather have the sale than not. I...

Distance between fence posts

Hi

For a 900mm high pvc-coated mesh fence, about how far apart should the fence posts be? The fence is only to keep next door's yapper out, not to grow things up, I'll be screening it with shrubs.

Thanks!

Another thought - sorry I didn't think of it before - is to install Linux. Big advantage - it's free. My Linux using friends say Ubuntu Linux is the easiest for the novice. I wouldn't know, I'm a happy Mac camper!

I second Rosebery's advice, plus you should have the operating system CD/DVD in case you need to reinstall it. You can get OEM versions of XP and Vista for under £100 from Dabs, or maybe Curry's which is where I bought mine. The only thing you don't get with an OEM version is Microsoft official supp...

Thanks! 1.8m beyond the tank seems a bit excessive. Looks like it's going to be a new boiler too, now.

Replacing a domestic oil tank

Hi I need to replace my oil central heating tank and its position doesn't conform to the current regs - it's too close to the house. It was legal when it was installed. Because it will be a replacement can I just put the new one in the existing place, or will it have to be resited to conform with th...

New loft insulation or rewiring first?

Hi - first post! I plan to have my loft insulated and the house rewired, and am wondering which should be done first. You can tell I'm not a DIY-er, much less a skilled person :) Is the rewiring done first, and the cabling clipped to the joists as it is now? If so, the new insulation will cover the ...
