Jsaint 26, have you ever seen two wires brown and blue wires producing hot sparkling flames.so to avoid all this mess use high heat resistive insulation tape or if fitted with boxes you get square boxes and seal all entries. from sang kibet.

Hi dodgerover,have you ever bought a hot steam shower with no earthing terminal?metal frame on shower screen doesnt neccesarily require any earthing,not unless your wiring in the house is clumpsy.

Hi madoc what if you check the switch which feeds the down lighter.ensure that the voltage which feeds the downlighter is sufficient enough to light up the downlighter.but do not worry much a delay allows control against surges.

downlighters can be wired on both cases.but now in this case you have got to consider safety,neatness,conviniences and cost.but for your case you need to use the joint boxes,neatly arranged and all the tails should be inside the box and securely tightened on the screws against any mechanical strain.
