to my knowledge it is only in blue when rated high enough for what you want. 20m is a long run, that suggests your garage is someway from the house so the existing setup really isn't a goer. It's just not safe and thats why everyone is telling you to use SWA. yes you have gotr away with it so far, y...

also, the 100ma, 100 amp RCD offers no overcurrent protection, the 100A refers to what loads it is designed to withstand, you still need to fit an appropriate MCB. If you don't know this, or how to calculate your cable size then doing the work yourself after notifying buillding control is probably n...

thats incorrect.
with the 17th edition boards are split in two with both sides protected by seperate RCDs to meet the requirements for minimum disruption.
your talking about 16th edition boards which generally cannot now be used.

that sounds rather unconventional!!
your thinking makes sense, but
I would say that red with black tape is probably a neutral, never seen it done like that before myself though! bit naughty if it is

you could be opening a can of worms there!! is the conduit metal? if not then is it really suitable, i.e. does it offer adequate mechanical protection to the cable? probably not if the cable has become damaged, and artic cable is pretty tough. the only cable suitable for this purpose really is steel...

that rather depends on where they are in the bathroom, the nature of your ceiling and the type of lighting you want. this will govern wether you need IP rated (against water ingress) lights, wether you need to reinstate existing standards of fire protection etc etc. it's not as simple as just buying...

also it must be possible to isolate the appliance without moving it, even if it is plugged in. so if your socket is behind your fridge you need a seperate isolator.
genrally sockets should be mounted on a permanent structure. there is a degree of interpretation as to wether that means cupboard backs!

if there is no window in the toilet you also need to fit an isolator on the fan if it's switched from the light switch.
go for a time delay model switched from the light, the others are a pain

It sounds to me like you have got 2 way and 2 gang mixed up. this system sounds like a simple 2 gang, no 2 way, system
