it does create a problem!! one way is, as you have suggested, to put the freezer on it's own RCBO, which will reduce the likelyhood of nuisance tripping. The other way depends on the rest of your circuit. you could have it not protected by an RCD at all, provided it is just that socket and it is cle...

IN effect you are exchanging like for like. you are, as I understand it, not installing any new wiring, just new socket faces which will be flush mounted. As such there is no part P requirement. If however you move any socketsor install new wiring then it is notifiable. to cut the boxes you can dril...

but bear in mind this work is notifiable under part P and that once installed an installation cert and schedule of test results must be completed.
not having these may lead to problems later with insurance and the sale of the property as they are a legal requirement.

I think one reason for removing equipotential bonding was that it could, under certain circumstances introduce a risk of shock where non previously existed, which would be rather contradictory. As above, the regs don't always make sense. where there is no chance of metalwork becoming live, taking a ...

Two routes I would go would be to split your incommer into a henley block, 1 feeding the main board and one feeding a sub board fitted with a 64amp MCB and time delayed RCD. Alternatively if you have an unprotected way on your main board use that to supply the sub board. this will satisfy the proble...

I think the only requirement is they have to be protected from hot pipes. the length is open to interpretation as it isn't specified. I have heard from 2M to 5M and everyone swears their interpretation is correct. You can do longer, but there must then be a double pole isolator close to the meter. T...

you'll be lucky to get a spark to sign off your work. third party verification is not permitted by the providers. Also he is signing to say it conforms, but how does he know if he didn't do the work? would have to disagree with you Sparx on retrospective consents. most authorities take a very dim view of people chucking things up and then trying to present them with a fait accompli
there's every chance if you do this they will make you rip it down before even looking at your application
