Plasterboard Jointing Cement

Hi folks, I have to install a plasterboard wall. I will be using the self-adhesive tape on the joints. Can I use a ready mixed PollyFilla type filler material to mud over the joints, or must I specifically use Jointing Cement. I ask because I have enough ready mixed filler from a previous repair job...

Update on the fuse box...... My mate couldn't get a sparkie for 2 weeks (lives in a sparsley populated area). Anyway, I went back over and investigated a bit further. The ceramic block had been mounted on particle board (chipboard), and the meter box is at the side of the house, not directly exposed...

Mate called me to have a look at his cooker which wasn't working. When calculating the cable size required for a particular circuit, is the length of the cable run (in the formula), the length from the CU to the point of service only, or is it double this length, ie from the CU to the service point, then back to the CU again? ie size = (1.72 x 10^-2 x cab...
