Chimney lintel

We have removed the lintel from our chimney (what was a peice of wooden door frame or similar). Do we need to replace it with proper lintel? I would really appreciate some advice on this matter. I have picture of chimney if needed.

Chimney Liner

Hi - we would like to install wood burning stove (Victorian property) - is it recommended to have chimney lined? and also when chosing someone to do the job - do they need to be registered or approved etc? What do I need to look out for when choosing someone!

Many thanks
