Re: What to replace slippery stone flags with

Thank you
It’s just to me they seem so smooth that they seem slippery by the nature of them
They look beautiful with their different hues

Which Mono Kitchen Mixer Tap for low Pressure System?

I need to source a tap which is suitable for a low pressure system - we have a condensing boiler so the water pressure is low because I am told it is gravity fed The plumber left it to me to source a tap and as I have little knowledge of plumbing I bought a Classic Mono sink Mixer in Antique Bronze ...

Plants for dry Banking

We have a banking which is in full sun ( if we are lucky) - Can anyone recommend low growing plants/shrubs which will survive dry conditions.

Thanks Jimmy.
Problem is that as you exit the bedroom in one stride you are almost into the bathroom or could tumble down the adjacent stairs.
A subdued light would help make things safer.
It hasn't caused any problems so far.
The cost of installing a socket seems prohibitive.

We need something with instant light as we exit the bedroom onto the landing( rather than searching to switch a light on ) - Doesn't have to be bright so a plug in night light into a socket would suffice but there is no socket on the landing but there are two in the bedroom. Is it possible to wire a...

Hi,
Thanks,
There is no real loft /attic space - Just a very cramped space below a pitched roof.
We need immediate light as we step onto the small landing as the stairs are only two steps away just next to the bathroom door.

Lighting for a small landing

We have a small landing between the bedroom and the bathroom which is unlit and need a simple solution to lighting it at night when we go to the bathroom. A solution that springs to mind is a non electrical battery operated light which is activated by a sensor so that it comes on as we step out onto...

Checked the other 2 and they are dry. Called in water board and there is no leak. They say water is seeping up from the bottom of the stop cock chamber. I think the contractor who did the drive raised the level of the land above our stop cock which is now much further down than the other two that he...

Just need to learn as much as I can about what ( in accordance with good building practise ) should have been done at the time and what can now be done to rectify the 2 problems so I can put reasoned arguments to the neighbour / Contractor ti seek rectification and so that the Contractor doesn't giv...

Hi rosebery, Thank for the valuable input into the problem :) With regard to the previous here are my observations : - 1. Met neighbours contractor on site and he confirmed there is no leak and that it is not unusual for stop cock chambers to fill with water." Did you ask him why the others are...

Thanks Rosebery :) I googled it and made a sort of French drain and the problem is sorted. The shed is right over the other side of the garden from the entrance drive and the 2 problems are not connected. I have been away for a few of days and havejust looked at your posting on the Stop cock questio...

Met neighbours contractor on site and he confirmed there is no leak and that it is not unusual for stop cock chambers to fill with water. He says he encased the stop cock in a vertical 4 inch drain pipe and that the reason for it filling up with water is that it is non porous and the water can't get...
