hip roof compound angles

I have trwaled the net to work out how to cut the compound angles on a small hip roof I am going to be putting on a porch. There is very little on the net other than some mathematical formulas that are on a par with some I did on my engineering degree!! Is there a simple way of calculating these ang...

conservatory floor level

Hi. I am looking to construct a conservatory and have a question. My current patio doors open onto a step then onto decking. If I build a base up to current house floor level it will mean a lot of back fill and also means the conservatory will be overlooking my neighbours garden, even though it is 1...

Thanks for reply.
As it is only to shelter main door and put shoes in, I will go for single skin which is easier and will not go so close to neighbours fence and I will go for a 4" x 2" double up wall plate and just put a small roof on top.

If you were going to varnish/stain your pine doors and not paint them, then I would have gone for good quality wood to match. But as your painting doors I would go with MDF, as some say it is more stable and unless your expecting a flood why worry about it absorbing water? :D Also decent diyer shoul...

changed fan, new problem, please help !!

Hi. I have now changed my fan unit and things were looking good, dhw and heating seemed to be working. (Vaillant ecomax 824e) That was until I looked at the service panel display and noticed that every 15 seconds it goes from 5 (DHW demand) to 2 (purge) and then ignites again and goes to 5 after 15 ...

update on vailant fan problem

Hi. Well as the earlier post has not been approved yet I cannot edit it with respect to the water leak so here is another post/question. It was not condensation but it was a small leak in the heating pipes inside biler. It is a stupid design as it looks as if the system is made inside out starting w...

heating problem.

Ah ok, appologies, maybe hammer was the wrong expression, it is more of a creaking noise due to the heat expanding the pipes not the regular banging caused by high pressure water going round bends of loose pipes  I am experienced wiring, graduated in electronics  Checked the controller wir...
