Uneven bath outlet

Hi. This is an issue that I may not be able to explain very well. The pictures may not help either. Just installing the the Mcalpine bath trap and outlet. I needed it because it gave me the height that I needed to enable the pipes to run. Anyway, when I attempt to tighten it up, the top section keep...

Overlap Repair for Torch on Felt

Hi. I have an overlap that has lifted and requires sticking back down. I believe the roof is made up with a torch on felt. How do I undertake a proper and professional repair to stick down the overlap. And which products are required. It's probably about 12"in length that has lifted. Many thank...

Re: Banging Noise in Loft but not From Central Heating

Hi I did wonder if it was central heating pipes. Our do it, it's right annoying. Well, it used to be. Anyway, However the message reads ". At the moment we have no central heating and the system has been completely drained. But yet the banging persists, I think we hear it more early morning and...

Re: Banging Noise in Loft but not From Central Heating

Hi Can you take some photos of your roof and also of the inside of the loft? Do you hear the banging regardless of whether conditions. i.e. when windy? Could it be birds, on or perhaps in your roof space? Is it actually a banging noise? Could it be described as a flapping sound? Not, birds but unfel...

Re: Roof Leak but Doesn't Look Like its Caused by the Guttering

Hi
It would be very useful to view photos of the eaves detail. This is the section of roof that that runs into the gutter.
Without the benefit of photos of the roof, I would hazard a guess that the first course of slate/tile do not go into the gutter in this particular area.

Pointing Assistance Please

I have a friend who is considering having their house pointed. It is stone faced at the front, brick at the rear and brick also on the side of the house. Now, they have been there around two years and it appears that they have a lot of damp in the house, and they are wondering if it needs the walls ...

Boiler losing pressure

Hello everyone. May I say from the start, thanks for reading this. Yes you! Right, on with the show. I am having problems with our ARISTON Combi A 24 MFFI boiler. It has been losing pressure and cutting out. I have located a leak on one of the radiators and intend to replace it. However I did isolat...

Gable end

Hi, I have a gable end to rebuild and I am considering using blocks instead of the existing bricks. It is only a small section of wall, single skin I believe, 8' long with it's highest point being at the centre and this is 4' high. (A triangle). It is out of sight, sat in a maze of roof valleys. I i...
