Hi jrs The covers I know use artex to stick cove, they don't use nails top and bottom like you, they don't need to. These guys are site workers not diy or private jobs. They cove and then artex in one hit. I guess you have learnt something jrs and also everyone you spoke to. Artex is cheaper than ea...

Hi mate No one can tell you what it is with out looking at it. Best advice I can give is to get a damp serveyor to take samples to see how wet it is and to check for salts. This will set you back £80 to £200. Please don't be tempted to ring a company who say free surveys. There is no such thing , th...

Hi mate Its simple dude . £4 per sqm walls and board. £.80 per metre for beading . No charge for the tape (feeling generous) and as its a loft I would add £50 for the curved ceiling (which by the way looks better) These rates should get you top quality pink. These are labour rate only and I think it...

Hi mate Just seen your pictures. Its hard to say what type of crack it is untill you hack some off and check the brickwork. If the brick work has craked then it could be structual. Or it could be two different services behind where the plasterer has not used eml (metal lath) get some one out to chec...

hi i think you have annswered your own question really. wet walls and plasterboard do not mix. for the best result take down board and render with sand and cement (muck) waterproofer if you need it. if it stays up you run the risk of any salts or damp eating the board. if you cant aford it at the mo...

Hi mate. Don't use foil back board. Using foil board is just covering up the problems and salt would eat at the board. Hack off sand and cement strong mix say 4-1 and use a top branded salt ihibitor like hilka. Prob not dpc failure , more like salt damage. When you come to paint use an anti fungal p...

hi dont skim over brickwork lol. if the wall is straight top the wall with 3-5 mm of bonding. put a small handfull of pink in with the bonding mix , this will stiffen up your rough coat and take the skim nice. pva the wall and knock loose crap and paint off first> use a needle gun if you have too.
