Ask your surveyor whether it's necessary to stitch that crack up with helifix bars, that will strengthen the wall again and when repointed will look better.

frame fixing sizes for dg windows

hi, what size length and diameter is recommended for the frame fixers when through fixing on pvc windows? is 10mm diameter standard or is 8mm ok? and how much of the fixing should actually be in the masonary? 60mm minimum? are generic frame fixers ok instead of fischer ones? thanks in advance

are cleats and lugs the same thing?

are there universal ones or do you need to get ones to fit the particular extrusion the windows are made of?

most prob synseal 70mm extrusions.

fitting very narry dg window

hi, I have some narrow pvc windows to fit. The frame size is 340mm x1160mm and the gap slightly wider.

Now I can't fit my drill in that gap to drill horizontally to the blockwork.

Does anyone know of a small SDS drill including the bit that could fit in that space?
