Re: COOKER GAS SUPPLY - CHINESE PUZZLE

from pic looks like cooper rising up, appreciate actually unscrewing anything looks like a nightmare, would be best to cut copper pipe and put a soldered cap on it (shouldn't use compression fitting unless accessible once done) sure ur gas engineer will know what to do when he looks, shouldn't be a ...

Re: Replace thermostatic shower valve or more

If ur hot water to all the other taps is hot and stays hot that discounts ur boiler, if the shower was/has been working fine since 2007 plumbing ok. It is common that the thermostat heads go on these showers, i would suggest ur best and cheapest option is to change the thermostat head on the shower.

Re: Do I need an additional AAV ??

no harm in fitting an extra air vent, if ur worried about failure, fit a manual one instead of auto air vent, u can vent it manually if required without the worry of it failing and leaking.

Re: Ariston boiler problem?

has ur boiler got a preheat function for the hotwater? If it has this would make sense why the boiler fires on and off, check ur manufacters to see if it has a preheat function. On most boilers this can be turned off.

Re: Alpha CD50 Condensing Combi Boiler - persistant leakage.

It sounds like ur boiler is over pressurising then dumping, this is usually caused if the expansion vessel is flat (but it should dump out ur prv (copper pipe outside) if the connection is not tightened could be leaking internally (this would explain the high pressure dump), try running heating and ...

Re: Power flushing without boiler/heat

best thing to do is fit ur new boiler along with a magna clean (filter) this will protect the new boiler from the sludge already in the system. U can then add a sludge removing chemical to ur system, which will break up the sludge, then hook up the powerflush machine, clear the system, then add an i...

If ur cutting into the pipework on the central heating, you need to drain the whole system via a drainpoint, u can either turn mains stopcock or isolation valve on the header tank (small one for heating) to prevent filling back up!

Problem with shower, brand new. When u put power on to shower power light illuminated operates on cold, as soon as u turn thermostat to eco or high trips the earth protection on main board. If there was a problem with the mains/earth to the shower surely it would trip as soon as u installed the powe...
