Worcester Bosch Greenstar Boiler Pressure in red

My boiler was losing pressure and needed topping up each day. I was hoping it wld keep going until weather improved (we are aged 80+). As of this morning the boiler has increased its pressure and is now switched off but has remained high and is close to the red signal on the display. We dare not put...

Re: Worcester Bosch Boiler Loosing Pressure

Thank you. We intend to get it fixed but in the meantime I was just worried in case it blew up or something as it has recently got worse.

Can anyone recommend an eco friendly lighting system for an extension?

We are adding an extension (3.5 x 5m) which Building Regs say must be treated as a new build and is subject to the new eco rules on insulation etc I understand that we should specify a lighting system which is 'eco friendly' The room will be used for hobbies ie sewing etc so good lighting is essenti...

Insulation requirement from Oct 2010

I raised this under 'Timber Frame' but there was no response so apologies for raising it again as this may be the more appropriate topic:- Or is this too big a subject? We built a timber framed extension some years ago without problems but we simply cannot wrap our heads around the new insulation re...

Insulating a new timber framed extension

We built a timber framed extension some years ago without problems but we simply cannot wrap our heads around the new insulation requirements for another single storey extension we need. Is there a layman's guide to the actual requirements which explains from start to finish how to calculate, from s...

domestic lights blinking on and off

Thank you for the suggestion. We are pensioners and it is becoming virtually impossible to find suitable bulbs for our light fittings, many of which are traditional downward facing glass shades. The new eco bulbs and coils either look awful and/or are too big for the fittings. With age comes failing...

domestic lights blinking on and off.

Can't find this in the forum.....apologies if I am wrong! House built 1970. A few months ago I noticed a minor occasional 'blink' in the hall light. Since the darker nights began I noticed that the adjacent cloakroom light also began blinking - even though it was only on for a minute or two at a tim...

Help please, 75 yrs old oap, no heating. Freezing

Our greenstar 24i system is 2yrs old and worked perfectly until a month ago. Suddenly stopped, now works very intermittently and getting worse. Why does 2yr old Greenstar 24i stop working for a few days

We are pensioners home all day.WB Greenstar 24i had its 2nd birthday last week. Dayton wireless room thermostat. Serviced twice. Cold night about a month ago felt chilly one evening, next day (Friday) no heating. Checked everything - replaced batteries in room thermostat (just in case) no change. Ra...
