Okay thanks or your help.I have a plumber looking into it just now for me.My combi isnt far from the shower maybe about 3 metres so hopefully something can be done.The hot water at my kitchen and bathroom sinks is extremely hot so the plumber was thinking the problem could be the mixer setting itself.
You can check online for a chart that tells u the size of cable to use for the size of shower and the length of the cable run.All showers i wire these days i run a 10mm cable although i had to buy a shower to run of a 30amp mcb with 6mm cable that was existing.i just used the chart and it works fine...

Hey,if the cable is twin and earth sometimes the black core in the cable is used as the switch wire but if you said the light is switching on and off okay then thats not the case.Did u say the black core u mentioned was connected before?
