Painting plastic

My house has two toilets which are generally in good condition but with plastic cisterns which are now yellowing and grubby. I can't really afford toe replace them. Is their a product that would be suitable to paint them or clean them so they look fresher and new?

Painting internal brickwork

Do I need to use masonry paint on internal brickwork or can I use conventional wall paint? Do I need to use some kind of primer?

Tiled up fire place

The house I am moving into has a tiled up fire place with an air vent in the centre. I would like to erect a modern electric fire place in front of it. Would I simply be able to remove the fire surround and put a new one in its place and then stand an electric fire in the centre or would this cause ...

Removing a dado rail

Please could somebody help. I am moving in to a property with a dado rail in the lounge which I really don't like. My questions are: How easy is it to remove a dado rail? What are the best tools to use? Is it simply a case of tearing it off the wall and then filling in any holes? Will it be possible...
