yes you can sand them down with wet or dry sandpaper give them 1or 2 coats of acrylic primer and finish with 1 coat of oil based eggshell paint tinted to what ever colour you want they should end with a cupboard door lustre like you would buy

thanks for replying tony the water tempreture is fine and it only seems to happen when the hot water is turned off the boiler keeps going i dont think the rads heat up when hot water taps are on cheers

are you sure it was vynil silk and not oil based egg shell if its oil the matt will not stick to it you could try using an acrylic primer crown paints do a good one .the only to be sure of no problem again is to put at least 1000 grade lining paper on make sure you sand the wall well to provide agoo...

thanks for replying i switch the boiler off then back on and its fine once or twice the boiler has ignited for a few seconds then switched of im not sure which kit he fitted it just looks dmw service kit on his invoice i called him because we had no hot waterat the time

you can buy an areosol called stanblock this will cure problem or most oil based paints

you need to scrub the walls with a good quality scourer and plenty of hot water it is the paste and size thats left on the plaster thats doing the damage when you paint over it the water in the paint makes it react the best cure is to use 1000 grade lining paper and paint that it will also stop any ...

halstead ace high boiler fault

can anyone help please when hot water is turned off boiler keeps on running and heats up rads just had service done d mw service kit fitted in march boilers not that old already spent 145 last time could this be linked boiler is halstead ace high. most grateful for any advice
