Ramie, im not sure i understand your question, if you are asking how tall the frames would be, then they generally are standard height 2100mm. The fixings would be the same as a dwarf wall cons, through the sides into the wall (packed off to get plumb) through the bottoms of the frame into the floor...

Baseworks aren't my area of expertise but you will need a dp course in for sure, especially if you plan on installing a wooden floor! Water tracks up through brick and concrete and would deffinately get to the flooring.

It sounds as though you have a poly roof which aren't sealed units therefore the hole will not leak into the conservatory.
