Eddie, we're just getting this done and it's going via a F/spur in the loft next to the fan. Hope this helps.

Cooker Hood

Hi, Installing a cooker hood in the kitchen ( obviously )! I was planning on taking a spur to a fused connection unit in the chimney part of the hood. Is this ok or would the air being pumped from the hood cause problems. The steam from the cooker would go thru the filters in the hood.

Nice one sparx, thanks for the reply. No probs with getting a leckie in to do the work, it's just that the guy from the council wanted a drawing of what was gonna be where.

Cable to garage

Hi, our garage currently has a small shielded metal cable ( Mineral Insulated ??? ) with a gland at each end, This i think is pre 1960's. How can I find out what it's current carrying capacity is? I would like to use it for putting a light and a twin socket in the garage, I don't want to replace it ...
