Shower Tray Filler

I have noticed a very small dent in the bottom of my shower tray.
Can anyone advise if the filler that can be bought for a repair of this is any different to the filler that would be used for car repairs, apart form the cost?

Thanks
Colin

Undersink mounting brackets

I have a granite worktop with a sink mounted underneath. Recently i noticed that the sink was coming away from the worktop on one side & i have since discovered that the installer only fitted the mounting brackets on the other side. There are 6 holes for the brackets, but they only installed 2. ...

Shower hose

We have a thermostatic mixer shower & the hose that connects it to the overhead shower is leaking. The problem is that this hose is only 0.5 meters in length & the shortest length any plumbers merchants seem to have is 1.5 meters. Does anyone know where i can get a shorter hose (0.5m) from??...

Gravel on Flat Roof

We recently had the building regs inspector around to sign off the extension we have had built. He told me that i needed to lay some gravel on the flat roof. Can i use pea shingle (size 10-15mm) & does anyone know what sort of area one of the bags from a DIY store would approx cover?

Solid Oak Floor Laying advice

I intend to lay 90mm wide solid oak flooring planks by either nailing to an existing wooden floor. I am told i need to leave a 15mm expansion gap around the perimeter of the room and to cover this gap with beading, i do not intend to remove the skirting. But, if the new flooring is fixed to the old,...

Gas Fire Venting

I am looking to buy a new gas fire to replace an old one, the new one will fit flush with the wall. A lot of the fires we like indicate they need venting. Does this mean the room needs a vent on an outside wall or is there some sort of vent required on the fire?

Thanks

Widening a door

Hi, I want to widen a single door into the front room, into a double door, to let more light into the room. This is an internal wall, but it is supporting the joists for the upstairs floor in a detached house. Firstly, do i have to remove the lintel above the door & replace it with a wider one? ...

Hard Water/Limescale removal issue

We have just moved house into a hard water area & i am looking at installing a Limescale removal device. Has anyone installed the "H2FLOW Water Conditioner", or are the electical type better?

cheers
