Gainsborough 8.5 E Electric Shower

Shower unit has been working well since installing it 4 years ago, it is not a power shower. Without warning the water output pressure has dropped to about 25%, as far as I know it is fixed to a mains input and water pressure to washing machine, taps etc are all normal - my WC cistern refill slowed ...

Pity you didn't get help with your dilema!

My father is a bee-keeper, hence my interest - did you solve the problem?

adding a chimney

I have bought an 1850's stone built terraced fisherman's cottage - it's been refurbished but the builder took out the chimney/fireplace. I'd like to put it back! Is it possible to do so without spending a fortune and without using up too much interior space? The front wall is 2' thick but I'm unsure...

Re: Cutting back dense overgrown Bushes / shrubs

[quote="gazzaman"]Hi, I have dense overgrown bushes/shrubs at the side of my house. I dont know what type they are but they have very small dense leaves and red berries. I have tried using an electric hedge trimmer but it is hopeless!! It cuts the loose twigs but when I attempt any density...

Running the OFCH

Hi - simple question..

Assuming I don't need the OFCH to heat the house or heat water, do I need to run the OFCH system?
(ie: can it be left off for weeks?).

What would happen if I don't?

Thanks

water inside boiler

water has got inside my firebird popular 70 boiler.
local engineer says probably through a crack - it hasn't been running for a while and the firing mechanism looks well seized/rusted.
i've been quoted £450 for a new boiler plus £200 fitting, £650 in total, is that reasonable?

shower switch

the pull string on the shower switch broke. I assume i need to replace it, but when i unscrewed the removable part of the unit, it only drops down less than 1 cm. The wires from the ceiling feel tight, making it almost impossible to take the unit off, let alone put a new one on. What should i do? gi...

oil central heating boiler

i have a Firebird popular 70. I've run out of oil before - then, with the progam switch on, and having bleed the air from the oil pipe, i've pressed the reset - the boiler has fired and started. This time (having bleed the oil pipe), when I turn the programmer to 'on' the pump/boiler starts to 'run'...
