Re: Damp problems 1920s semi

I used the Holland Damp Proofing system on my property and it has helped with the damp issues i had, its always worth hooking at the different options available. It seems to have done the job for me but then all properties are different

Re: Sliding wardrobes

I would build a header at the top rather than building up from the bottom, if you have a section at the bottom you will find you will trip on it. I think a company called spaceslide do doors upto 2800 high might be worth looking at them and you wont need a header

Re: Glass Splashbacks

depends on the colour, we had a grey glass splashback put in our kitchen and you dont see the marks on it as much. Only thing is that colours become dated after a while

Re: Rigid Built over flat pack kitchens

rigid is the way forward, they are constructed in a factory and are so much easier to fit, also saves alot of time building the carcass

Re: Damp wall 43 inches from ground floor

Sounds like rising damp to me, i had my place treated and i thought it was rising damp but luckily it was not. The system i had put in helped with the condensation i had in my walls and its gone away now, think it treats rising damp too so hopefully if it ever comes through i will be ok.

Re: tiny round damp spots

I had a similar problem with black spots of mould around my windows and abit in the bays at the front of my house. I thought it might have been damp coming in so i got a surveyor on from a company and they confirmed it to be condensation. it was a relief to find this out as i didnt want to be hackin...
