Right Bren I am sorry to say this but you need a new shower mixer.

I know the kind you have and it’s a waste of time trying to fix it.

The problem has been cause by lime scale and there an “oâ€

Get an elbow and a stop end (push fit or other)

Bang some plastic pipe on the elbow then cut the pipe bang it on so the water is flowing.

And bang the stop end on the other end of the cut pipe.

I am assuming the plumber knew what he was doing and this was not a diy job. It’s either: Pump, they have 3 setting and you should turn the pump to the max setting. The boiler, its too small for the number of radiators you have. They’re faulty trv or lock shields. Some waste has got into the rad...

Well sizing a boiler is hard to do without looking at the house. Things like having kids in the house make a lot of different to the amount of hot water you need. If there always someone in and the house need to be warm all the time makes a lot of different to the amount of heating you need. You nee...

I have never done this………….. There are 2 ways of getting back. Fine another manhole and back it tru with the rods you have. Or get a power washer or drain jetter and blow it thru. If the drains still blocked or you can’t find a manhole, there is a crab tool for this and you just add it to ...

I don’t know why you think combi boiler are suitable for family homes, the main draw back is you can’t have hot water and heating at the same time. That’s not a problem for people with out kids or teenagers, but if you wife is washing up and the washing machine is on, you 15-year-old daughter ...

It’s not a radiator key it’s a radiator spanner.

There 2 types one for metric and for imp.

Any good pluming suppler will have them. Better buy both at the same time, you always find you have the one that don’t fit and end up going back to buy the other one.

I did see a similar job to this one in the summer. They used a ground source geothermal heating system and costs £10,000 (8kW system) We all stood round and look at it; we all said it was never going to work. But its performance was a surprise and I understand it was being power by a 200-wat pump. ...

This is a real problem, but it’s easy to fix. Pop down the diy store and get a self-cutting washing machine fitting, (there about £5). Work out where you think the lowest point is and pop it on and connect to hose pipe. You could get some spillage, but make sure the hose goes on properly and but ...

Yes if its crack you need to replace it, but if you’re lucky they may have cistern on its own.

Always ask.

Has for the water pipe you need to drain the whole house down, but when the water is off make sure you fit an isolator on the pipe.

Your old toilet was about 9 litres; the new one’s are 6 litres so the flush is not has power full. I think you have put in a pressure-reducing unit on the feed, like they tell you to do. The pressure-reducing unit looks like a plastic corkscrew and easy removed. It should be inside the bit where i...

I think you are looking in the wrong place. All houses have airbricks some are below floor level. The only think I can think of is there a wind or something blowing cold air thru the airbricks into your home. Normally carpets stop this problem, but there could be a gap between the floor and the skir...
