Erecting driveway gate post

I am erecting a gate for our driveway which will be a typical 5-bar softwood gate about 12 foot wide by 4 foot high, and propose using an 8 inch (200mm) square wooden post to hang the gate. 1. How deep does the post need to go into the ground? I understand it should be about 1 metre into the ground?...

Floor tile adhesive - ready mix or not?

I'm considering using Unibond floor tile readymix adhesive for tiling on a concrete floor. Is this any good? Is there a better floor tiling ready mix adhesive that I could use, or should I really be mixing up a powder mixture? I'm laying floor tiles which are in various sizes in a pattern, the large...

I've bought Polycell Plaster Repair to replaster the area (about 30mm depht). Is this adequate for the job and any tips on doing it as not us...

Replace lath & plaster ceiling?

I wish to take down a lath and plaster ceiling (about 6metres by 3metres) as its uneven and covered by hideous wallpaper and fake beams. I fear removing the wallpaper in case in brings down chuncks of plaster. My goal is a smooth ceiling with spotlights installed. How do I remove a lath and plaster ...
