Hi Betts, I've just bought a house with damp and am out to get a damp proof course put in - this comes with a 30yr guarantee so that if there are problems they will come and resolve them. It may be worth checking with the sellers to see if they have the cert for the work and then get the damp people...

Penetrating damp v's condensation?

How can I tell the difference between penetrating damp and condensation? I'm in an end of terrace house and my bedroom has stains on the corner of the two outer walls at ceiling level. I have felt it and it doesn't feel wet and it doesn't look like mould, it's more orangey than black. How can I tell...
