An update! I went to the small claims court in mid-June, the day before I went on holiday for two weeks, and they didn't turn up, so the judge gave the decree to me. I thought great, I can go away and stop thinking about this and come back to a nice cheque! I came back from holiday on Tuesday ...

Hi Tricia, If I understand you correctly, you already have a shower over the bath? If not, you want to have a mixer tap on your bath which has a switch to change the water flow to the shower fitting, and at the same time be able to attach the shower head to the wall so you can stand up to have a sho...

I would agree with what bob said about the pipes being too close together, I've seen that a number of times. It makes sense if the water runs cold after a few seconds. If it were running hot all of the time, that would be a different problem altogether

Have you changed any washers? It could be as simple as it not being tight enough. I got a call-out for a similar problem, and that's all it was. I had to use a 22mm compression spanner to tighten it because all others were too fat to fit.

I always build a framework around the bath before installing, regardless of whether or not it has a shower over. That way 3 edges are supported by the frame and the outside edge is supported by the bath panel. It guarantees the bath will be level, and you can adjust the legs to suit. The bath usuall...

Wherever it is stored is obviously filling up too much, and therefore overflowing.

What have you looked at, if anything?

Where is your hot water stored?

Is there a ball valve regulating the flow of water?

Has anyone done work on your plumbing recently? It may be that if they have the stop-cock needs to be closed a little to reduce the flow of water coming in.

Other than that, we'll look at bob's crystal ball.

Are you supplying the parts and materials, or are they?

Or is this just the labour costs?

I don't want to go into too much detail because I am taking legal action against these people. Basically, I was in the process of installing a new bathroom, out of the blue, the people pulled the job from me, a tiler and a plasterer. They asked me to invoice them for the work I had completed, which ...
