Replacing undercabinet strip lights

I am looking to replace two current fluorescent undercabinet lighting units with LED equivalents. The current lights are daisy chained together and I attach a pic of the plug at each cable end of the linked unit. The new LEDs have a Figure 8 connection but I have been unable to establish the identit...

Re: Dripping kitchen tap but is this model serviceable?

I'm not sure if you solved your problem but I have a similar tap (Franke Davos in my case) and have had to replace the ceramic cartridges on two occasions over the years. On both occasions the cold tap handle slid off easily after removing the cover and the grub screw but the handle for the hot tap ...

Removing GU4 12 v Halogen Downlighters

I have three of these downlighters installed in a panel above the bathroom washbasin. I am looking to replace them with a driver and three 12v LEDs. Unfortunately I cannot discover how the existing units are fixed in place. The bezel underneath, after removal of the decorative ring is thin and black...

Freeing a Franke Davos Tap Handle From Cartridge Splines

I am trying to replace the cartridges on a Franke Davos tap. On the cold side I removed the cap, undid the retaining screw and slid the handle off the splines without problem. On the hot side I have removed the cap and screw but the handle will not budge. I have sprayed with penetrating oil and WD40...

Technique for Fitting Rubber Door Gasket Replacement

Does anyone have any tips on fitting a replacement Stormguard rubber sealing gasket into a UPVC door? I have removed the old gasket and have the replacement. The first few inches click into place in the groove quite readily but then I can't seem to get it to catch for the rest of the length. Have tr...

Best Methods of Treating Terracotta Floor Tiles

Our porch has a terracotta tiled floor. It had been painted with tile paint but we were unhappy with the finish so I removed it. Having washed and rinsed the floor and allowed it to dry, I followed advice to treat it with two coats of boiled linseed oil. This produced a very nice lustre finish but a...

Strength of pvcU roof - can I lay strong board to access roof?

i have a conservatory of lean-to style constructed of standard pvcu against the gable end of my house. It measures 5m in width (5 x 1m panels) and 2.7m in depth with a roof angle of 23 degrees from the horizontal. A small section of wall above the conservatory is badly in need of re-pointing. Is it ...
