No you can't use iron pipe becoz its get hot when hot air passes through it and a cemented and insulated pipe not create this problem.

hi friends yes you can fit a vent brick fitted somewhere to stop condensation.

1. Scratch out all grout with a small chisel and a hammer. Regrout.
2. Rip out tiles and refloat floor. Look at posts showing how to finish a plain screet floor. Seal it, live with the screet floor until you can afford new tiles. DON'T use the same tiler!

All modern flueless gas fires manufactured and sold in the EU have an ODS pilot system. This special part monitors the oxygen levels in the room. If the air vent is blocked the ODS will shut off the fire long before there is an issue over the emissions. For instance our fire shuts down at only 25ppm...
