I have a huge 16'x8'x2' built-in wardrobe made in bare chipboard (not melamine coated) by a previous owner. It is very strong and solid but not pretty and I would like to paint it.
Should I use a liquid crack filler first or can I just prime and paint it?
Thanks for that suggestion John - but as you say it might not fit well with the living room decor.
I think I may just cut out a large square of carpet/underlay and then stick laminate board or vinyl on the hardboard.

Using dark vinyl wallpaper the white edges of the paper do show as vertical lines whether overlapped or butted. Any solutions/techniques to avoid this?
It's not disastrous but a minor irritation.
