Dusty Concrete

Had new concrete internal floors laid and then screeded recently (end of Jan)

Concerned that the concrete screed is disintigrating to dust. Sweep it up and its as bad again in a few days. Is this correct after this time and if not what can I do about it?

Thanks

How level is level??

How level does a sub floor need to be to have wood flooring laid on to it? I have had my concrete floor screeded with sand and cement mix covering an underfloor heating system. I had hoped for it to be completely smooth and level, smooth enough to lay engineered wood flooring directly to it without ...

Cheers tone thats great. I am aware about keeping the floor covering thickness to a minimum to reduce the insulation effect and maximise the efficiency of the u/f heating which is why i was looking at the thin stuff but the back really looked like it was made of old pallets! Is thickness really that...

What to look for in a quality engineered or laminate floor?

A bit bewildered by the choices and price ranges out there! What makes a good quality laminate and what makes a good quality engineered floor, intended for living room and hallway? Does more thickness mean less prone to distortion? Was looking at an oak engineered floor in a well known diy shop's 's...

Best place for radiators

Seem to remember in the past being told that radiators should be fitted under windows. Is this correct please? Currently have two radiators fitted under windows against external wall of living room but for all sorts of other reasons including pipework access they would be better elsewhere. Would thi...

Complying with new regs!

Hi everyone, first posting here!!! Currently got easy access to electrics under floorboards upstairs. Not ready to do it all yet but will be planning electical upgrades/partial rewiring as part of general renovations. I am competant but not qualified electrictian, and certainly not fully conversant ...
