Re: Is this an RCD box?

Thanks Mr white, RE it being too old for solar, what specific aspect makes it too old? Does solar need something new in the latest boxes?

Is this an RCD box?

I was told some years ago for me to get Solar panels I need to have an RCD board. I can see RCD text on the fuse box but wanted to be sure if its compatible with the latest regs. Image attached.

Re: Garage door catching on frame

The photo was just taken off google images to show a like for like one, sorry!

The cable itself on my garage is wrapped on the cone without any issue. Just wondering if there is a way to tighten one side of the cable without tightening the spring itself

Re: Garage door catching on frame

Its a canopy door, which is kind of up and over but not the specific up and over type. I have attached two images of the cone at the top and the bracket the cable connects.

Re: Garage door catching on frame

Thanks stoneyboy, how would I tighten them? They are hooked to the middle of the garage door but look fairly tight on and the cable is wrapped around them

Garage door catching on frame

I have a Henderson Premier garage door which is catching on the bottom right frame when it closes as shown in the photo. I noticed the cable on that side is much tighter than on the other side. It only has one nut on the overhead spring that can be tightened on the left and I am aware it is dangerou...

What is this white stuff appearing both on house brick and block paving?

I've started seeing this white stuff appearing both on house brick and block paving.

At first I thought its because of sealing the block paving but its also on my house brickwork which it wasn't before.

Is it possible to remove it? What is the best way to clean bricks like this?

Re: What is the best way to clean and paint this bit above a bay window?

Hi thanks for this info, so I realised I could use patination oil for the lead flashing, but what is the best grey/dark grey paint type to use on the bottom curvy bit just above the window itself? I am not sure what material it is. Maybe a multi surface paint will work?

Does this roof tile need urgently repairing?

I noticed a small fault in a tile on my roof today, however looking at original photos of the house we took when we bought it, its been there for some time. It appears like a very thin layer of the red tile has come off but the core concrete part of the tile is still intact, just the red layer has c...

How do I Attach a Pull up Bar to the Steel I Bar above Garage Door?

I have this steel I bar in above my garage door, though I can only access one side of it as you can see in the photo: m I want to attach a pull up bar, which can ideally take my body weight (up to 80kg). I have seen many brackets for steel I bars that you can fix a pull up bar to, but as I can only ...
