what drill are you going to use. you really need a proper core drill with a clutch or you risk injuring yourself when it jams.

either put the core in a vice or as I do use an oil filter strap wrench. it lets you get more torque on the core.

if its just for small jobs have you considered a battery powered one.

does the charger charge other batteries if not- the charger is knackered
does the battery charge in another charger if not the - battery is knackered.
