Re: Cause of Cracks in Render on External Wall

Hi, it's so hard to say the cause of these by just looking at pictures personally if you are looking to purchase this house I would get a professional in to assess this.

Re: Best Type of Paint for Electric Storage Heaters

Hi Jim,

Not really an expert on this exact field of paint i would probably say spray would be best but I get all my paint from https://promain.co.uk and swear by the products they supply.

Re: How to Decorate Small Sized Bedroom to Make it Look Large?

Hi, some key points I think that work are :

Keep furniture to a minimum and make sure the furniture is relevant to the room.
Paint the bedroom using a neutral colour
Also hand mirrors the effect they have are unbelievable.

Re: Protecting Brick Outhouse With Soil on Outside Walls

In my experience of trying to seal the brick work i would use a masonry sealer although this may not have a positive effect internally.

I'd always use white spirit and soak overnight, although I know for oil based paints emulsion is also a great option.

Understand this is a late reply as I am only a new comer to DIY Doctor, but I would always seek the qualifications of the tradesman before hand.

Re: Painting Garage Door Help Needed as now Some Paint is Flaking off

It is ideal to paint in warmer weather, although if you could somehow make an artificial source of heat this would suffice failing that you won't always see the best ever results.

Re: Masonry painting for rendered breeze block wall

I would definitely contact Dulux, just be careful they don't try to give you the run around and shirk the blame on someone else like as previously stated how the paint is applied.

Re: What Paint to use for Painting Interior Concrete Blocks

Personally I would recommend the Masonry paint as you mentioned it gives you the weather protection although both choices have their pro's and con's I would choose masonry.
