Ugly soil pipe installation

Hi, Our builders have done a pretty lame job of installing the soil pipe behind the loo and it's a bit of an eyesore. Can anyone suggest a way to improve it, ideally without too much cost of upheaval? I was thinking of just painting it white and trimming the rubber seal to the edge. Thanks in advanc...

Hi @stoneboy thanks for the reply. The path slopes so I was planning to use breeze blocks at the uphill end and probably hollow concrete blocks at the the downhill end to level it. I had planned to use those in combination with the wooden stakes but if they're going to rot is it worth getting metal ...

Sandtex smooth or fine textured for painting concrete sills?

Hi all,

I need to repaint all the concrete sills of our Victorian house. I believe Sandtex is the paint to use and I was going to use stabilizer as well. Question is, smooth or fine textured? I can't really see the difference in any images online.

The Victorian house we moved into last year had a lot of work done on the front in the year or two before we moved in. Looking at the photos, the drive didn't exist before - it was a raised garden. Brick frost damage causing bricks to wash away?

Hi all,

Several bricks in one part of our Victorian house are crumbling. If water hits them it washes the brick away, it's rather worrying!

Is this ice/frost damage? What can I do to sort the issue. Is it a big problem?
