yes you can use 100mm blocks.But use must install piers at every 10feet
or so ,depending on the size of the garage.
Double thickness on the door jambs.
use a reinforced concrete slab for the foundation 200mm thick.

you can use expanding foam.
Foam the holes dont use to much it expands 30 times the ammount you use,once dried about 3 hours cut the foam back.
Then use PVA glue to prepair the area around the socket and 1 coat plaster to finish

in a rule no you should not use thermalite 100mm block below dpc .
But trenchblocks are thermalite anyway so I wouldnt worry.

if its on a raft foundation and pure sand ther is no point digging further but I would suggest using reinforcing in the foundation. Concrete should be 225mm thick reinforced with mesh cut into strips thinner than the trench as not to expose steel to elements outside the concrete. tie steel at joints...
