Hi

I am looking to use some self levelling latex/screed on my shed/office.

The concrete base is a little rough and as we concreted in two sections the first section, nearest the door is lower by about 3mm compared to the back section. Both sections are 3.83m X 2.66m.

What I am wondering is if I use latex screed to level and smooth everything out.

So that would be about 1mm to smooth out the back section, then working towards the door onto the front section, lay 4mm - (3mm to meet the original back level ) plus the additional 1 mm to meet the new level.

Or do I have to lay the 3mm first to level the front section to the back section. Then lay 1mm over the top (once first section dried) across the complete floor?

Depends on which self levelling compound you use. Some can fill 3mm in one hit. Read the instructions but don't forget to dampen the thinner areas.

Thanks for that I will find one that can do 4mm in one hit. As it seems easier.

As the frame is wooden and isn't sealed against the concrete base, it does sit tightly, but there is always going to be some gaps, is it worth looking for a very thin plastic lining just to sit around the base? or maybe run some sealant along just to make sure?

Suggest you use general purpose silicone sealant to close the gaps.
