Semi recessed basin fixing

by Builderbert » Sat Jan 10, 2009 10:42 am

Dear Doctor
Please can you advise how to fix a semi recessed vanity basin? There are no fixings with the pack and the store says use silicon which seems a bit flimsy to me, but hey, what do I know?
Will something like Ceresit PL700 instant grab be more permanent? Any help much appreciated.

Builderbert,
Use sanitary silicone and make sure you have a continuous bed where the basin touches the countertop. Don't forget to seal the edges of the cut out with silicone as well.
