shower problem

by tshirtsuntan » Tue Apr 10, 2007 7:10 pm

hi

i recently moved into a new house and along with it i inherited a gainsborough
energy 2000x instant electric shower eveything was fine with it for a while then last week whilst i was taking a shower the whole thing just packed up it did not trip any thing and all the electrics in the house are fine.
would it be a fuse has blown or would you say the shower was on its last legs anyhow? there is no power or water coming from the shower at all its just dead.any advice would be very much apreciated.thanks.

probably fuse, which if blown, water solenoid valve won't open.
If fused chances are it could be dying or it may be on the rating limit of the fuse which is 'tired' and just melted...
if u find fuse is rewireable type look at its wire b4 changing, if old age it will just have a gap in the centre, if fault caused it to blow there will be almost no wire left. & blackened!
