I'm fitting a thermostatic mixer valve which has 3/4in BSP male connectors for the H and C water input to which I need to fit elbows to take the pipes vertically downwards. Fixing such fittings is always difficult in getting the joint sufficiently tight while ensuring that it ends up pointing vertically downwards. In the past I have used PTFE in varying amounts to try to achieve this but it is always a pain. Is it acceptable to use an angled tap connector with a female 3/4in BSP which allows you to tighten up the joint while being able to manipulate it into the required position?
Any advice gratefully accepted.
Thanks
