Hello

I was wandering if someone could offer some advice regarding skirting board I brought earlier. The skirting is too thick for the acrchitraves and leaves an unsightly gap. Would it just be a case of purchasing new skirting but this time getting the right thickness, or can someone let me know of some way to sort this out.

yeh, u could change ur skirting, but if you don't want to, u could do what i done. i bought decorative blocks to go on the top corners and where the skirting meets the archatrive. this may not suit you, but think about it

Hi, Gerryyys tip is a neat trick - nice one.

Much better than my alternative suggestion which would be to remove and replace (or pad out) the architrave. If you are redecorating anyway, it's not usually as hard to do that as it might look. It should come away easily. (Cut the paint where the architrave joins the rest of the door with a knife to minimise damage).
